I am writing to share my heartfelt gratitude and enthusiasm regarding my recent participation in the Union County Women Mean Business event held on June 13th. This annual summit provided an incredible platform for women from diverse backgrounds to connect, learn, and be inspired.

The Union County Women Mean Business Summit stands out as a powerful forum that caters to women at all stages of their careers. It brought together women entrepreneurs, professionals, and leaders from various industries to engage in meaningful conversations about leadership, career development, work-life balance, diversity and inclusion, and the unique challenges faced by women in the business world.

One of the highlights of the event was the keynote speaker, Esther Pak, the esteemed Corporate Counsel to the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia 76ers, who was inspiring. She shared her remarkable journey, including the challenges she encountered as an immigrant and, later, a working mother. Ms. Pak emphasized the importance of finding the right balance in our lives, a message that resonated deeply with all attendees.

I had the privilege of participating in a panel discussion entitled “Unlocking the Power of Mentorship,” alongside exceptional women including Sherry Heidary of Union College, Susan Levy of SBL Consulting Group, and Deputy County Manager Amy Crisp Wagner. During this session, we shared our personal experiences and insights, aiming to inspire the audience with our unique journeys and the lessons we have learned. Our focus was on the transformative force of mentorship and equipping women with the tools to become exceptional mentors while attracting meaningful mentorship opportunities.

Throughout the panel discussion, we stressed the significance of extending our reach, increasing influence, and enhancing decision-making and life skills through mentorship. I had the opportunity to share personal anecdotes and insights, highlighting how mentorship, both as a mentor and a mentee, has played a pivotal role in my professional career and personal growth. As a panel we stressed how mentors can help mentees unlock new perspectives, shape ideas into impactful actions, and take control of their journey to success.

As the Union County Women Mean Business event drew to a close, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of delight and pride in being part of such an empowering gathering. The exceptional women I had the privilege to meet and the invaluable insights I gained throughout the event left me invigorated. I am more committed than ever to championing mentorship, both as a mentor and as someone who seeks guidance to further my own growth.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the collective strength and resilience of women in the business world. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Union County Board of County Commissioners and all of the incredible individuals who organized the event for creating such an extraordinary platform. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate and contribute to the advancement of women in our community.I hope that by sharing my experience, I can inspire others to embrace mentorship and recognize the immense power that lies within each of us.
